A Day at the Dassam Falls (Trip/ Travel Blog #05)

Welcome Pals,

Here is one of my favorite trips: A Day at the Dassaam Falls

Let's get some info about it:-

The Dassam Falls (Hindi: दशम जलप्रपात) (also known as Dassam Ghagh) is a waterfall located near Taimara village in Bundu police station of Ranchi district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

The Dasam Falls (Hindi/दासम झरना/) is the collective name for cascade type waterfalls Ranchi. They form the southern end of the Kanchi River.

The Dassam Falls is a natural cascade across the Kanchi River, a tributary of the Subarnarekha River. The sound of water echoes all around the place. Dassam Falls at one of the edges of the Ranchi plateau is one of the many scarps falls in the region.

Dasam Falls is famed for its beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power. Balancing recreational and commercial uses has been a challenge for the stewards of the falls since the 1930s.

This Dasam waterfall is formed when the river Abe of Swarnekhara falls from a height of 144 ft (44 m) flowing from the plateau of the southern Chhotanagpur plateau or Ranchi. If you want to see Leela of the mountains of Jharkhand, this place is the best, which at first glance really looks like the Himalayan valleys. Forests are forests all around and the waterfall of the spring is quite deep. At the rainy time, it takes a very frightening look.

Dassam Falls is one of the most important tourist destinations in Jharkhand. It is one of the finest waterfalls in the whole northeastern region of India. The fall is also known as Dassam Ghagh. Dassam Falls of Jharkhand attract not only national but also international tourists.

Dassam Falls in Jharkhand is situated near Taimara village on Tata-Ranchi highway road. It is only 40 kilometers away from the state capital Ranchi. The river that forms the magnificent fall is the Kanchi River. When it falls from the height of 144 feet, it becomes the Dassam Falls.

The scene of water getting down with such a huge force is unnerving. The sound of water echoes all around the place. Dassam falls of Jharkhand is one of the finest tourist attractions in Jharkhand. It is a perfect place to go out for an excursion or picnic with your near and dear ones.

The scenic beauty of the waterfall at Dassam Falls is doubled by the surrounding locale which is covered with dense vegetation all around. The waterfall is also surrounded by rocks of various shapes and colors that add more charm to the exquisite locale.

Moreover, the cool breeze blowing across and the spray of water droplets are enough to intoxicate you so much so that you would not feel like leaving the place for a while. The water of the Dassam Falls at Jharkhand is very clean and clear. You might feel like entering it but the authorities have warned the tourists not to do so because of the current that it generates.

It is about those days when we used to stay hostels
While staying with Chhotu Bhaiya, we were introduced to others like Ranjan Bhaiya, Radhe Bhaiya, Pramod Bhaiya, Anjan Bhaiya, Laden Bhaiya;

There are very good people, By meeting these people, we have not felt that we are not at home

We often used to go on trips during the Sunday holidays, this time it was the turn of the Dasam Falls.
That day we had breakfast in Bhadani in the morning and did the Dasam falls and left.
Asked Ranjan Bhaiya and Pramod Bhaiya, having breakfast together, but they refused to go
  • Ravi Shankar Bhai (Chotu Bhaiya).
  • Ravi Mahto.
  • Sujeet Singh.
  • Laxmi Raj Kishore.
  • Dharmkant Lal.
  • Ranjan Bhaiya.
  • Pramod Bhaiya.
  • Anupam Nag.

When we had left for the trip, then halfway, Ranjan Bhaiya and Pramod Bhaiya chased and joined us from Scooty.
When we get off the highway, the same green trees thickly shade on the way
There are 2 ways to go to Dasam Falls, we did not go through the main road
When we reached there, the view was worth seeing.

See yourself and feel the joy...

When we reached there, we noticed that Sir Mridul Kumar Saxena, Chief Managing Director (CMD) of H.E.C was present with his wife and friends.
We people wish Sir good morning and also take pictures with him.

We took a bath beforehand but nobody takes a bath there. We took some photos and enjoyed there a lot.

after spending some time with some water we decided to return the hostel because there is a cricket match also.

Yes, it is a short trip blog because Dassam Falls is not too far away and we had to return early.

Next Blog will also be a Trip Blog, '' Trip to Panchgagh Falls and Hirni Falls.''

See you soon...
Stay Home Stay Safe.
                        .............. Anupam Nag
