In Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd.

Workshop Experience in HEC Ltd.(Part 01) .

As I previously said I posted in 010 Shop, Heavy Machine Shop (HMBP).

Let's start-

First I had to go Project Division (HMBP) for the Gate Pass for entry in HMBP.

There were also many candidates who got posting in HMBP. There I met Rishi Mathur.
We got our Gate Pass in 1 hour and submitted it to Assistant Commander C.I.S.F. and entered into the HMBP.
Let me give you some detail about HMBP,
HMBP has a total of 07 manufacturing shops, 01 Store, RPD & 01 Main Canteen.

So I entered in 010 shop (Heavy Machine Shop).

( Pic was taken from EOT Crane, 4th Bay)

I was waiting for Shop Incharge (I/C), Then Nirdosh Sir told me to meet Rajesh Munda Sir (Production Manager). Accidently he came in front of me. I showed my joining letter to him, then he assigned me to CNC Vertical Turning & Boring Machine (1262)  and asked me to meet Jatish Chandra Tandi Sir (Assistant Manager) for my duty scheduling.
Let me know you about 010 shop 04th Bay where I posted:-

It has Asia's Largest Lathe Machine.

Also Vertical Turning & Boring Machine (1262 & 1192) and Horizontal Boring Machine.

Then I met K Mutthu Sir. He was on duty on CNC VTB (1262) in A-shift and I was on General Shift.
He was working on Crushing Head Assly. for HCL.

Being a big machine, two people were required on that machine but at that time Muthu sir was working alone.
He asked me to sit on the bench and started talking to me.
At lunchtime, he gave me a coupon and sent me to the main canteen.,
After a quick meal, I returned to my machine because I was very anxious because I had not seen such a big machine until today.

B-Shift started at 2.30 in the afternoon, then I met Dipanker Dada on duty.
Rightly Dada was a Bengali and he told me to call him Dada, he did not like to listen, sir

So I used to call him Dada and call Muthu sir.

Dada assured me that he will teach me how to operate the machine and one day will enable me to operate that machine alone.
So that's how my first day was over.

A few days, Ajay Sir was appointed and joined the shop / us.
On one side Muthu sir and Ajay sir and on the other side, Deepakar Dada and I started doing duty in the shift.
Since it was the month of March, we were charged with emergency duty for 12 hours.
I used to enjoy doing the duty of B-Shift. At that time the beauty of the workshop was at the peak.

( Pic was taken during B-Shift from Trolley)

At that time, there was a provision of 01 day leave for doing duty for 12 hours, 02 days for doing duty on Sunday, and 04 days for doing two shifts (6. 00 - 19. 00) on Sunday.
In this way, by doing emergency duty, I collected about 100 days of vacation for the whole year, which I could not even fully utilize.
Meanwhile, Dipankar Dada's marriage was decided and he went on vacation.

Due to the month of March, it was decided to call Mandal Ji by the Management as there were very few people who could run the machine in the entire shop.
He was a senior of Muthu Sir and Dipankar Dada and had also retired.
After Dada's leave, I got a chance to work with Mandal Ji. I learned a lot from him in a very short time.
The shop also had Kapil Sir (Asst. Manager) who was in charge of 3rd Bay and Ganesh Dutt Tripathi Sir, Mahesh Vikram Srivastava Sir, and Shashi Sir.

There were other senior people in the shop including Sanjeev Bhaiya, Pradeep Ji (Kanpur), Jagannath Munda Ji, Thakur Ji, Nelson Bhaiya, Amit Ji, Ramendra Bhaiyya, and Shubhash Ji who were leading me in the workshop, working, and as a senior. I was taught how to talk, I have a lot of memories with them, which I will share in the next blog (Part 02) because
It is not advisable to dispose of 01 years of workshop experience in the 01 blog.

Let's go towards off duty, Hinu.
A few days later, Nitesh Bhai drove my bike from Ghazipur to Ranchi and reached me.
Which I had no problem in coming to shift duty
(Arriving at 4 o'clock in the morning at A -Shift and going to Hinu at 11 o'clock in the B-shift
 Was simple).

Our roommate Deepak Ji left us and went back home due to personal problems.
A few days later he came to Nishant Singh, he liked the room but he had the option of PG, so he preferred to take PG and got transferred after that Ravi Kant Bhai became our roommate.
When we Dharmakant and Ravi Bhai went out to hang out, Ravi Bhai's Chirkutai is still very much missed.
Once I and Dharam had gone out to eat, Fun Cinemas and Eyelex were in front, then we saw the poster of Uri - the surgical strike
So we took the ticket and watched the whole movie, instead of having food, picked tea.
Hinu's tea used to be relaxed after doing duty all-day
That is why we often used to go out taking tea in the evening with, Nishant and Ravi Bhai.

We also applied for hostels but till that time the hostel was not given to anyone, so hostel under maintenance was going on.

We had to struggle a lot for the hostel, in which Vikram and Kisku helped a lot because both of them were in the headquarters.

Let's see in the next blog.

The next blog will be a travel blog With Mona Dada.
Trip to Jonha Falls, Sita Falls, Hundru Falls & Getalsud Dam.
